The influence of cooperative learning model type course review horay with audiovisual media against social skills and student learning outcomes

This research aims to determine the influence of cooperative learning model type course review horay with audiovisual media against social skills and student learning outcomes. This research was conducted at Janti I Elementary School in Waru Regency Sidoarjo in Lesson 2019/2019.

This research uses a quantitative approach. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent design (pretest and posttest) control group design. The research uses two classes, which are experimental classes and control classes. A research sample is a grade IIIA student as an experimental class and IIIB as a control class. The research instruments used are social skills observation sheets and student learning tests. The data analysis techniques used include the normality test, homogenization test, an independent samples t-test.

The results showed that there was an influence of cooperative learning and the type of course review horay was assisted audio visual on social skills and student learning outcomes. The results of independent samples of t-test students' social skills showed that Tcount 4.762 > Ttable 2.02280. The results of the student study results independent samples t-test showed that Tcount 11.483 > Ttable 2.02280. It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of the course review horay has an audio-assisted visual impact on social skills and student learning outcomes.

Plight of physical education in secondary schools of Punjab; Pakistan

The major purpose of this research study was to investigate the plight of physical education in secondary schools of Punjab, Pakistan, particularly in D. G, Khan Division. The data was collected and presented on the bases of the research objectives. Three research questions were formulated in the light of research objectives and two research questionnaires (five point likert scale) were adapted with the help of the literature review. The entire population consisted of three districts, in which both male and female 4228 teachers, 89594 students and 950 public and private secondary schools. For data collection, 400 teachers, 400 students of public and private secondary schools were selected as a sample from convenience sampling technique. The research was descriptive in nature and the survey method was used for the collection of data. With the use of (SPSS) v-20, Mean Standard Deviation, Percentage, and further tests were applied. This research showed the differences in all five domains in the level of plights facing by physical education.  The findings of the research study highlighted that the teacher could not teach the learners due to a large number of students in classrooms, availability of equipment and appropriate curriculum may also effect on teachers and students performance, overcrowded schools and miss management from the educational authorities also the major causes of the hurdles in physical education. It was recommended that the decision makers of the ministry of education may review the educational policies which prove beneficial for the teachers and students regards physical education at secondary schools and may provide effective and positive solutions to resolve the problems. Teacher training programs should be held to make the environment and management of schools positive and productive.

Development of scientific teaching materials oriented by saintificial approaches to improve critical thinking of elementary school students

This study aims to produce science teaching materials products and related devices such as Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), Student Activity Sheets (LKS), and Test Sheets that are valid, practical, and effective to improve critical thinking of elementary school students. This research was carried out using the 4-D model of Thiagarajan et al., Namely the stage of defining, designing, developing, disseminating and testing in the fifth grade of Dukuhtunggal State Elementary School, Duduklor State Elementary School, Margoanyar Lamongan State Elementary School year 2018/2019 teaching with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data analysis technique uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed: 1) valid, according to the assessment of the three validators with valid categories, 2) practical, according to the assessment of the two observers seen from the activity of students increasing at each meeting and the implementation of RPP, 3) effective, seen from the significant differences between the results of the pretest and posttest tests were students 'critical thinking and the students' positive responses. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the development of science-oriented teaching materials scientific approach is valid, practical, and effective to improve critical thinking of elementary school students.

Competency of teachers and application of ict in the instructional processes: A case of community schools of Nepal

This paper explores the competency of teachers from community schools of Nepal for the adaptation of Information and Community Technology in the instructional processes. The use technological tools i.e. computer, mobile, projector, printer, learning apps, e-library etc. in the instructional process has critically been analyzed in this study. I used case study method and interpretative inquiry for this study.  The study explored that there is the ICT-friendly policies and programs in Nepal but teachers’ competency seems to be improved to extend opportunity for students to access ICT-instructed teaching and learning.

Implementation and Practices of the Comprehensive School Safety Framework: Views of Senior High School Students

It is the directive for Department of Education (DepEd) to implement Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) in Basic Education based on the Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF). This study assessed the views of senior high school students on the implementation and practices of the three pillars of CSSF.  Ninety (90) Grade 12 students were randomly selected to answer a five-point Likert scale survey questionnaire. Findings show that students consider their school as evidently safe on its location, have resilient design and construction with regular repairs, and highly evident on conducting regular inspection and maintenance. Students consider disaster risk management practices as highly evident in schools specifically contingency planning, providing first aid kits, conducting school maintenance programs, establishing early warning system, and creating evacuation plans and procedures. Moreover, capacity building activities conducted by the school are highly recognized by the students as part of disaster resilience education. Data also show that DRRM is evidently learned in the curriculum of some subjects and through educational materials. In conclusion, safe learning facilities, disaster risk management, and risk reduction and resilience education are evidently prioritized or practiced in senior high school based on the assessment of students.
